scar tissue remediation
Scar tissue remediation
Most of us have sustained scars throughout our lives: after accidents or operations like abdominal surgery, gender assignment surgery, hysterectomy, episiotomy or caesarian, mastectomy, hernia op or scars sustained through self-harm.
Scar tissue can hinder the free flow of energy, cause a lack of sensation in the area, or even pain.
In a world where feeling your body is not a high priority loss of sensation is often accepted as normal- even if it causes restriction, pain or impairs pleasure.
Through gentle massage with caster oil, caster-oil packs and myofacial release techniques we can attend to your scars.
Organic caster oil contains ricinoleic acid and has anti-inflammatory properties; it can soften scar tissue and break up collagenous adhesions and so support bringing back sensation and flexibility in the area of the scar, which can lead to enhancement of feeling, pleasure and reduction of pain.
Scars also hold part of our history – maybe a scar is felt as a ‘trophy’ or it is a reminder of deep pain or trauma. Often these stories have not been told and witnessed.
I believe an important part of such a session as listening to and honouring the story of your scar(s). You will have the opportunity to give voice and release whatever wants to be released.
This can be simply through talking or feeling deeply into the scar and letting it speak its story. Maybe you want to take a few minutes in the session to write or draw from this place or just talk. Sometimes long held emotions such as grief, anger and sadness can be released and dissolved in this safely held space where we lovingly and focussed attend to the scars.

‘I had a healing session with Eva for scar tissue in my vagina. With my first birth I had an episiotomy and my three following births all had tears. My fourth birth was a major tearing and I needed surgical repair under general anesthetic.
These injuries had left significant trauma in my body and also frustration that things could have been different if I had been enabled to listen to my body’s wisdom.
The session included massage of the scar tissue and releasing tension in the area and listening to my story. It was a great relief to open up about birthing my sons, the joy and the pain. In fact, it was the first time I have opened up so fully to anyone about it.
Eva is very sensitive in her practice and her own life experience informs her work. The space was warm and comfortable and I felt totally safe and accepted in my vulnerability.
It has helped me move through some challenging emotions. Thank you Eva.’ Lou Green
